Timeline: The Dakota Conflict of 1862 September 28 - November 3, Camp Release

Sibley appoints a five-member military commission to "try summarily" Dakota charged with murder and atrocities committed against the Minnesota settlers.  Over the next six weeks 393 Dakota are tried and 303 are sentenced to death.
