Blood on the Prairie: A Novel of the Sioux Uprising

In August of 1862 during the American Civil War, the Dakota Conflict broke out in Minnesota. It caused the greatest loss of civilian life in an Indian war in U.S. history. When it was over, 38 Sioux warriors were executed by hanging at Mankato MN, my home town. This remains the largest mass execution in U.S. history.

"A novel of clashing cultures fought out in the closing decades of the 19th century, this is western historical fiction at its best and recommended for personal reading lists and community library collections." - Midwest Book Review
