Harper's Weekly Story of the Hanging of the Sioux 1862

38 Sioux warriors were hung on a huge gallows at Mankato Minnesota on December 26, 1862 after the Dakota Conflict of the same year. Here is the report of the hanging as it appeared in Harper's Weekly in January, 1863.
