We found Mathias Ulmen, but not his brother, John Ulmen Blood on the Prairie, Sioux Uprising, Dakota Conflict, Civil War

This listing from Calvary cemetery, Mankato, MN documents the burial of Mathias Ulmen, my great-great uncle. The John Ulmen buried in the same plot is not my great great grandfather, however. My great-great grandfather was born in 1817 and died in 1884, whereas the John Ulmen buried in the family plot died in 1918. The was of the next generation and may have been one of Mathias's children, as Mathias had not one but two children named John. For the purpose the book "Blood on the Prairie A Novel of the Sioux Uprising" it is Uncle Mathias who is featured, not his older brother, Grandfather John.
