Blood on the Prairie, A Novel of the Sioux Uprising, Dakota Conflict, American Civil War, Abraham Lincoln

My name is Steve Ulmen, author of the historical fiction "Blood on the Prairie A Novel of the Sioux Uprising." I grew up in Mankato Minnesota and my ancestors settled here before the Civil War. They were on hand to witness the largest mass execution in U.S. history when, on December 26, 1862, by order of President Abraham Lincoln, 38 Sioux warriors were executed for their role in Minnesota's Great Sioux Uprising of 1862.
