Just Acquired This Artifact of the Dakota Conflict and Hanging of the Sioux Circa 1912
This beer tray was made in 1912 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Dakota Conflict of 1862 and the hanging of 38 Sioux warriors who were involved in the slaughter of 1000 white settlers. It was commissioned by the Standard Brewing Company who operated in Mankato in 1912 as an anniversary souvenir. This hanging remains the largest mass execution in the history of the United States.
