Hanging of the Sioux Mankato MN December 26, 1862
This is a representation of how the gallows worked at Mankato Minnesota on December 26, 1862, when 38 Sioux warriors were hung by the Union Army by order of President Lincoln. This hanging took place after the Dakota Conflict. The gallows is a scale model that was displayed at the Blue Earth County Historical Society.
