I'm looking forward to meeting you at Ahlman's Gun Shop in Morristown, MN this weekend. I will be giving three presentations each day on the Dakota Conflict.
At this time in 1862 the Dakota Conflict was taking place in Minnesota. The result was the greatest loss of civilian life in an Indian war in U.S. history. After the conflict was over, 38 Sioux warriors were hung at Mankato on December 26, 1862, the day after Christmas, by order of President Abraham Lincoln. This was the largest mass execution in U.S. history. Come on out to Ahlman's this weekend and hear the story. Copies of "Blood on the Prairie: A Novel of the Sioux Uprising" will be available for sale.
