Timeline: December 24, 1862 Dakota Conflict, American Civil War

Exactly 150 years ago today, December 24, 1862, 38 Dakota condemned to death who are imprisoned at Mankato MN pending their execution by hanging on December 26th are allowed to meet with their families one last time. This was the largest mass execution in U.S. history. We honor all victims of the Dakota Conflict, we forgive the crimes committed by our ancestors and we support the reconciliation between the white and Indian cultures.
