Blood on the Prairie - A Novel of the Sioux Uprising, Dakota Conflict

"Of great concern to Crooks was the fact that the entire southern Minnesota River Valley was at risk from Cut Nose. Could he be stopped, or would he again move down the river to the north? Mankato, St. peter, Henderson, which had already been attacked, Belle Plaine, and all the homesteads in between were at risk. The western frontier was totally unprotected clear up to Fort Abercrombie and beyond." (Excerpt from Blood on the Prairie - A Novel of the Sioux Uprising. 2012 is the sesquicentennial anniversary of Minnesota's Great Sioux Uprising of 1862)
