Sioux Uprising, Dakota Conflict, Americn Civil War

This is the 4th of July, hot, sultry, a great holiday to spend at the beach. 150 years ago today, things were heating up in the camp of Chief Little Crow on the Sioux Reservation in Minnesota. Sick and starving Dakota Sioux have been approached by sympathizers of the South in the American Civil War. They brought supplies and provisions and suggest  the Sioux create a diversion in far-off Minnesota to distract the Union Army from the battles of the American Civil War. All hell is about to break loose. Read all about it here.
