Abraham Lincoln accepts copy of Blood on the Prairie Sesquicentennial Edition into their Research Archives




President Lincoln was deeply involved with the Dakota Conflict of 1862. He personally wrote the death warrants for the 38 Sioux warriors who were hanged at Mankato Minnesota by the Union Army on December 26, 1862. This remains the largest mass execution in United States history.
